はい。 そのとおりです。
公式ページで使われている用語がア音非長音化方式でしたがあえてそのまま表記しました。

蛇足になりますが、 この段落は、 もともとこのページに Windows 版と Linux 版の説明しか
無かったので Mac 用 "GIMP MANUAL" (nei 氏作) の
http://www.geocities.jp/gimpmanual/install.html#font
を参考に追加しました。 運よく Mac OS X 公式ページにはフォントブックの説明が日本語版も
英語版もあったので他の言語の翻訳者にはここを参考にしてもらえるようリンクを添付しました。

しかし久しぶりに参照リンクを見てみれば事実上のリンク切れみたいですね。 私は Mac に
触れる機会がなく、 しかも現在のヘルプ文書執筆チームに Mac ユーザーが居ないので、
この段落自体更新不能として obsolete にする必要があるかもしれません。 困ったな。
gimp-docs-list@xxxxxxxxx に報告し、 相談します。
