小笠原さん、メールありがとうございます。
あくまで個人的な話として思うところを。

GNOME Asiaを開催することはおもしろいことだと思いますし、
一方で日本のローカルコミュニティの活動は事実上ほぼ無いので
正直なところ心情としては複雑です。

私の方では、現状ボランタリーな活動にほぼ手が回っておらず
翻訳活動すら作業が溜まってしまっているような状態です。
私がGNOME Asiaのために割ける労力と時間は微々たるものになりますし、
積極的に「やるぞ」と言い出しづらいのが心苦しいところです。
また、イベント開催のスキルや経験も残念ながら持ちあわせていません。

もっとも、GNOMEに限らずFLOSS一般を支持しているので、
そのためにできることなら私の可能な範囲で協力することは厭いません。
それはLibreOfficeであれFedoraであれ同様です。
