返事が遅くなりましたことをお詫びします。

スクリーンショットを拝見しました。 カラーマップ回転と色を透明度に
については素晴らしい訳なので私からは何も申し上げることはありません。
後で気付いたことですが、 "From:" や "To:" に関しては context タグの
無いデフォルト訳はありえないのではないでしょうか。 もしこれらの語が
新たに別の場所で使われたら今回付加を見送った部分も含め context の
追加を要請するはめになるおそれもありそうなので、 今のうちにすべての
出現場所に context をつけたほうが良いと考えます。 いかがでしょうか。
context タグの語句は私も迷いました。一般的用法というか指針のような
ものがあるのかは知りません。 しかしやはりコードの管理をしやすくするには
ラベルとウィジェットのブロックとが関連しているように名前をつけたほうが良い
でしょうから、 これは実装コードを書くプログラマの領分でもあると思います。
「タグ名は仮のものですよ」と書き添えておきます。

この他の語は思い当たりません。 私も他言語チームがどの程度まで受け
入れてくれるかとても気にしています。 しかし原語を変更するわけでは
ないので分離前の訳語がそのまま踏襲されるはずですから、 さいわいにも
他言語チームにかかる作業上の負担はあまり大きくないだろうと思います。
私見ですが、 今後導入される Glade の UI 作成ツールの特徴を生かし
開発段階からどんどん翻訳者も UI に意見がつけられる環境になれば
今回のような UI の変更も気兼ねなく提案できるようになるだろうと予測
します。

Bugzilla 用の要望報告の原案を拙い英語で書いてみました。

Request context tags for reasonable translation on some plug-ins

自己紹介(私が報告するなら):
I am a Japanese translator of Docs.  We, I and the Japanese UI
translator, order to add some context signatures.

本文:
We have no straightforward way of translation by Japanese particle
which correspond to English preposition because it should be placed
AFTER objects.  In cases of preposition word is used at UI, we should
apply different expression against it so that the phrase follow the
grammer.  We mostly use noun phrase that shows the object's role.

On the GIMP plugins PO file, "From:" and "To:" are commonly used in
two or three plug-ins.  Japanese translation on the Color to Alpha
box is completely chaotic, but it was not fixed yet because no one
found any suitable Japanese string through all situation of these
plug-ins.  If we would find a couple of good strings for the msgstr,
when newer version adds a function which contains the same words
to the plug-in collection, the translated string might not fit on the
new context.

We think this problem must be solved by setting context signature
on each UI message string at the source code of plug-ins.  The
attached patch acts this modification.  Of course you may change
texts of context tags that applied as temporary expedient.
