Re: GNU のライセンスの翻訳について

すみません、発端というか原因というかを作ったくせにずっと黙ってました。

個人的には、いろいろ面倒なので、
原文のままが無難という、
山本さんと似たような考えを持っています。

赤星さんや岩井さんが書いているように、
今回問題になっているのはライセンス本体ではないのですね。

GPL3 の
How to Apply These Terms to Your New Programs
には、
>   To do so, attach the following notices to the program.  It is safest
> to attach them to the start of each source file to most effectively
> state the exclusion of warranty; and each file should have at least
> the "copyright" line and a pointer to where the full notice is found.
とか、

とか書いてあって、
翻訳以前に、原文にしても、ここで例示されているものから変えることがありうるものと思います。

gnome-3-6 の po ファイルを調べてみると (このメールの最後につけます)、
ここで例示されている文をもとにしたものであっても、
This Program だったりプログラム名だったり %s だったり、
あとの段落と一緒のメッセージだったり別メッセージだったり、
GPL のバージョンが %d だったり、
\n で明示的に改行されていたりして、
訳した場合には機械的にチェックするのは無理そげといいますか。
# ということで、十分なリソースもない状態なら下手に訳さないほうがいいかな、と
